Hello and welcome to the Mindful Mummies Tribe!
My name is Alisha Weston. I am a mother of three young boys, a wife, Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Mindful Mummies.
The Mindful Mummies Tribe was first created in early 2015. I had always had a special interest in working with women and utilising mindfulness-based practices in my clinical work. It wasn’t until after the birth of my second child though that I really started to embrace my own mindfulness, meditation and self-care practices. Incorporating mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion into my life, completely transformed the way I parented. I found that I was much more present and engaged with my children, I was calmer, less anxious and more connected in my relationships. I was happy and able to appreciate all those small, meaningful moments that I knew I would have missed if I was still living my distracted ways.
The power of my own experience coupled with my clinical knowledge of psychology, motivated me to do extensive research into the area of Mindful and Compassionate Parenting. I was so enthralled in the research and knew that this was something that needed to be available to all mothers. I knew that there were many mothers out there struggling with parenting fatigue, stress, social isolation and perinatal depression.
The combination of these experiences, led me to develop the Mindful Mummies Tribe. The face-to-face programs were implemented in Toowoomba and the success of these programs has been extremely positive. The face-to-face programs have been created with all mothers and pregnant women in mind.
Today, the Mindful Mummies Tribe has continued to grow into a number of exciting and life-changing programs.
